Hello all.
A dozen mails in the list stating the number of times someone's code got
downloaded, against n for proprietary s/w etc makes absolutely no sense to
someone who recently joins this mailing list. Free Software and FSF and all
FOSS on the whole is for the community. If one is bothered about the number
of times hiis code got downloaded, or his expertise or whatever, the actual
goal of 'Open'ness anf Freedom is altered.

Lets join hands in bringing more people into this Open community. The agenda
for this week' s ILUG-Cochin meeting is something i lliked a lot. There are
lots of ways for those who are not programmers or developers to join this
community and play a major role in taking the spirit of Freedom forward. I
myself am no coder. Am just a hardcore FOSS enthusiast and I love Linux and
associated tools.

But we need strong developers and coders, ambassadors, mentors etc. to take
this movement forward. As the PC Quest Chief editor said, ' There is very
little happening in OpenSource recently. The latest greatest innovation was
SELinux. These days people turn int OpenSource jus because its free'. Yeah,
so we need Open minded coders n developers to take things forward. After
all, everything happened 'cos Trovalds was Open!!

@Jos collins- I understand that u r a hardcore FOSS enthusiast so am I, but
lets be open in all directions, and lets support software for the humanity
@Praseed Pai- I always admire the genius in you and the student in you who
is always keen n eager in learning new things. I've adopted that nature from
you.

Lets stand united and be Open!

Regards
Dibu Philip
