Usual mistakes happens when creating a bootable CD are :

1. burning the ISO file as data file to cd.

Are you sure that you burned the iso as disk image in your CD burner ?

2. Not switching the boot medium.

Make sure that you changed the boot medium to the CD drive in bios. The
modern mother boards support the F8 switching in which you can press the F8
key to get the list of available boot media after the mother bard splash
screen while booting.
