Thank you. Saju, I have executed the commands proposed by you.Well, it has installed and updated so many things. I also got two denials like; 1. audacious-plugins-freeworld not found 2.phonon-backend-gstreamer not found I have started amarok.This time amarok interface has come.When I try to run any MP3 file it says "xine is unable to initialise".I explored further and tried to change the engine to helix but found helix needs realplay, that is , ofcourse,not installed. Then I went through its help page.Now I understand gstreamer is another engine but that is not showing up in amarok engine selection list. Now I understand there is problem with instatallation. My sound card is onboard AC97 detected and there is no problem. There is no problem with ogg files.They are working.I tried to run the MP3 files as root but not working giving the same xine problem.I went through the fedora forum ,but everything appears Greek to me.Please tell me what to do next? -Rajeev ps: Sorry for the disclaimer nuisance coming with this mail.I will contact my admin to do away with it. = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Best regards.
