Subject: [Mailinglist] Splitting directories
Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Hi all!!!

I am using Bacula(www.bacula.org) as the backup
software to collect all the data needed to be backed
up from all the machines. Since our company does not
have tape drives presently I store it on the Hard disk
itself, and then I write them manulay onto DVDs.

The problem Im facing is that the directory that needs
to be backed up is enormously huge, so what I do is
manually split them up and write it on CDs. Does any
one have any bright ideas on how the process of
splitting this directory into 4GB files can be done
automatically. I checked on some commands but they all
require more manual intervention.

PD
