i think insted of coming out with latest versions of kde and gnome developers should spend time on writing drivers for hardware . the acceptance of linux will be more if the hardware compatability improves .a classic example is open office we have a killer office suite with functions riveling the ms counterpart but try to print something with it in linux platform . then you will know whats the use of having such good software if it dont have hardware compatability. most of the modems wont work and in india pc buyer dont knokw whats a winmodem.try to play any 3dshooter in machines oter than nvida or ati based .it simply wont work . may be the non existance of a single base is the problem . we should work for that to create or make something existing as the standard there should be only one linux for the community weather its redhat or debian its your choice ...... booooored you :-) thats max bye bye happy linuxing catch everybody at the gnufest if we can get togather at 16th we all can go there togather
