I am assuming you have a redhat system You can always change your default desktop by editing the /etc/sysconfig/desktop If you don't want to touch the configuration files, you can do the following: 1) Start up X server by typing X on the console 2) that will blank your screen, then you press Ctrl+Alt+F1, to get back the console 3) if you want KDE, you type kdeinit, you may do both the steps by running startkde if you want gnome, you type gnome-session twm can be started by typing twm, because its a window manager, not a full fledged desktop
I hope I answered your question Regards, Suraj anoop alias wrote: >1 >how can i choose between KDE,GNOME,TWM from >runlevel 3 >startx do not seem to hav any option >also where is the config for which window manager to >start reside >how to edit it? > >2 >anyone has Fedora Core 2 cd's >i am willing to pay for the cost of the cd's > > > > >________________________________________________________________________ >Yahoo!
