Latest versions of distributions may contain bugs. They utilise people like 
us to identify them and some of us will fix the bug also ( a type of free 
testing) and finally the bug-free(?) version is used by giants like IBM.

Switch over to Debian Gnu/Linux.  (at least try a parellel running for the 
time being), because
1.  I is really stable.
2.  If any bug is found out and fixed it is available to the entire society.
3.  It is a nude distribution (never hide cons refer 
/usr/share/doc/debian/*.*)
4.  Almost all of the dependency problem will be taken care of by the control 
file in *.deb package.

5.  Upgrading to a latest version can be done on the fly (while you are 
working on the computer).
