Linux India - National Users eXpo 2003 -
The National Conference on Linux
Probably the first such conference in India, Linux 2003 aims at gathering
persons interested in Linux to highly useful sessions led by experts in the
field. Spread over a period of three days, the conference will have paper
presentations. The conference seeks to render the attendees informed and
abreast with the latest and cutting edge in Linux computing.

07 to 09 February 2003 (Thursday to Saturday)

Venue
Marian College Kuttikkanam, Kerala
Located on the terranious slopes of the Western Ghats, the campus is an
excellent venue for serious study and thought provoking sessions. The scenic
natural beauty coupled with the tourist importance makes this an ideal place
for the Conference.

Resource Persons
Highly placed professionals from the Linux industry are being considered to
head each session of the Conference .


Paper presentataions in Linux
The organisers have pleasure to announce that those who wish to participate
in the conference are invited to send in an abstract of any project/paper
they may have pioneered as part of the academic curriculum or for self
interest (by e-mail) .

The following is a list of areas in which papers may be sent.
1. Kernel Programming
2. Compiler Design / Porting
3. X-Windows
4. Linux and the Computing industry
5. Linux Security
Please note that the above is not an exhaustive list. Any paper related to
Linux is welcome.
However, all entries should be original and the onus of proof of authorship
rests with the person sending in the entry.
A preliminary abstract of the paper need only be sent initially (which
should not exceed 2 pages), and all entries should reach the Organising
Secretary before September 20, 2002.


Organisers-

LINUX 2003 is being organised by Marian College Kuttikkanam, a college
administering professional courses in Information Technology, commerce and
management, with a mission to groom first-rate professionals. The college is
an institution under the Catholic Diocese of Kanjirapally, Kerala, which has
many other professional institutions under it. This National Conference is
the first among a series of events planned by the College.
The technical partner for LINUX 2003 is IPSR Group, a total IT solutions
provider based in Kerala, which has the distinction of having hosted the
first national seminar on e-Commerce in Kerala in the year 2000. The Group
has also set up an R&D wing for Linux.
