I tried cvlc and although it didn't generate an error message it also
didn't seem do anything either.
The "extension module" seems like a likely place to start but I cannot
see anything useful in MCC. Can anyone help?
Further to the vlc question; these are the components installed on my
system:

I have all of those files Len except the lib64 files. Probably because I
have a 32 bit system.
I continue poking around.
