My setup is not perhaps as sophisticated as yours. I have clamav
scanning daily, but not daemonised or inside my mail setup as such. I
use bogofilter for my spam filtering - and do that within procmail,
which I find to be very efficient. If you are interested, I

At present spamassassin is run from procmail. All are run as daemons.
