You evidently installed k3b from "tainted" which does indeed need
trancode and which is also available from from "tainted".
No transcode in Tainted or anywhere else; I know since, for a check, I
selected ALL the available sources..

PS Mageia 1
That must be it (Mageia 1) because my Mageia2 has
transcode-1.1.7-1.mga2.tainted. But I did have K3b working in Mageia
1. Used it to burn the mageia 2 ISOs. ??
