No, that's not a dumb question. <smile> Go to the status menus and it is in there. Most people set up a hotkey for it - go to System Preferences, Keyboard, Keyboard Shortcuts, and choose "I am pretty sure) Mission Control from the table. The Notifications Center should be one of the options in the next table, and you can assign a shortcut key to open it.
