>>> Hello to all of you,

On January 20, I wrote about a problem I was having sending messages to certain
people ever since installing iOS/7. At least one other person on this list (I
think it was Ray) reported having a similar problem. Below, I outline the
problem, and then I will share the work-around I discovered. I will pass this
message along to the Accessibility people at Apple, too.

 The problem:
>>>
>>> Ever since installing iOS7, I have had extreme difficulties in sending text
>>> messages to recipients in my contacts that have more than one number listed
>>> there.
>>>
>>> Whenever I initiate a message and try to send it to a contact's mobile
>>> phone, the message is always sent to the landline phone instead. Since
>>> this isn't possible, I get a message from my phone company telling me that
>>> a text message can't be sent to a landline phone. There is absolutely no
>>> doubt in my mind that I am clicking on the recipient's mobile phone. If a
>>> person sends me a message, and I simply reply, the message is properly sent
>>> to the recipient's cell phone; I just can't currently start a new message
>>> thread to anyone in my contact list unless that contact only has a cell
>>> phone number listed. I suppose I could go through all of my contacts and
>>> erase any landline numbers there, but I honestly believe that there is a
>>> far better solution.
>>>
>>> Thanks for any thoughts.
>>>
The work-around:
When initiating a message thread, I never go into the Message app. Instead, I
now go into Contacts and select the intended recipient of my message. I then
keep flicking to the right until I get to the "Send message" option. This
entry is just past the "Notes" option. When I click on the "Send message"
option, I am presented a list of all the numbers I have for the contact and
when I select the contact's cell phone, I can send the message without a
problem.

As I said, I will pass this along to the Accessibility people, but perhaps my
discovery can be of help to someone right now.

My best to all,

Mike
