You could also play with the FTP server built into OSX. To start it,
from the terminal do:
sudo -s launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/ftp.plist
Then the users you already have can ftp to your box using the same
credentials. If you want to set up anonymous FTP you'll have to do some
config file editing. Here's a page that talks about how to do that:
http://www.linickx.com/3869/os-x-anonymous-ftp-directory-on-mountain-lion
If you want to turn the ftp server off you use the same terminal command
but change the word "load" to "unload".

Hi,
OS X Server has been around since the dawn of OS X. It used to be
more enterprise oriented and be considerably more costly, but now is
simply $20 or equivalent depending on your local currency. It’s quite
easy to set up and fairly easy to manage. You can implement a basic
server components without much fuss although more advanced features
take more network and server administration know how.
HTH.

I’ve never heard of this one. Is there period or just straight out
pay first?
I also have a ftp server, but I run it from windows. I’d love to move
it over to the mac.

Hi,
There’s always OS X Server. Probably a little overkill if all you
are looking for is an FTP server but for $20 in the AppStore, you
have an FTP server and much more, and accessible too.

Hello all!
I am trying to create an FTP server, and I wonder if somebody know
an app I could use to create it in my mac in an accesible way? Or
any other ideas to accomplish this purpose? Thanks so much for your
help!
