Rest assured I have MSP (Mud Sound Protocol) support and I have worked with developers from many popular MUDs to make the client as great as possible. The $5 is a one time payment, there are no in-app purchases or special costs for upgrades to the client.
Don’t overestimate the client, it won’t be as good as some of the windows clients that have been around for years on it’s release date. It is however already the only truly accessible client I’ve seen for OSX and I will continue to work to make it better as time goes on.
