Hi all, I don't know if this has been mentioned on this list, but you get AppleCare extended for three months if you upgrade to Mavericks.
This policy is in place even for people with older computers like myself. I have a 2008 iMac, and I spent a considerable amount of time trying to fix my issues with mail with a rep from the Apple Accessibility line yesterday. Just a quick FYI.
