Listers,

I’ve been talking to the developer of Vuescan since last night, and he has
fixed the Vuescan problems. Both the 32bit and 64bit versions of his latest
release are now working with Voiceover as they used to. You can download them
from;
http://www.hamrick.com
Please note that the “download’ link will normally download 32bit version. If
you want to get the 64bit version, scroll down the page to find a table where
you can find the 64bit version. It takes a bit of effort to find it since the
table has versions for linux and windows too so be careful. I hope I’m not
going to offend anyone by saying that the mac version must have .dmg extension
at the end of the file name. You also want to see the number 64 in the name of
the download file for the 64bit version. The file name is vuex6494.dmg for
64bit version and vuex3294.dmg for 32bit version. Once you copy the
application file to the application folder, and launch the application, you
should hear Voiceover announce vuescan 64 9.4.02. That’s the most recent
version that fixes our woes.

I’m delighted that Vuescan works again! The developer is a sympathetic guy. He
knows how important Vuescan is to so many of us.

Best wishes

Andrew
