well, heres a rule of thumb: if the project is open source AND donation requested, we (the end user) don't have a lot of right to demand modification. However, a paid for project (through sales, not donations) gives us the right to demand changes. Since he sells this app, he can be made to improve it by simple monetary pressure to change. THis is just a matter of simple economics (if he wants to sell more, he has to make improvements).
