Sorry for the delay. I was traveling this weekend and am just now
catching up on email.
Anyone can join the group, there is just an approval process to weed out
spammers. I have not found any join requests in my inbox to approve.
It's been years since I joined this list so I'm a bit fuzzy on the steps
but you should just login with your google credentials (or create an
account) and then when you navigate to the MacVisionaries list an "Apply
to join group" button should be added to the top of the page just before
the first message. I think the trick was that the join button doesn't
show up unless you are already logged in.
