I started having this issue after the latest update of iTunes on my macbook. I am running Lion (and it is not possible to upgrade to mountain lion on this machine, so we won't go there). As soon as I plug in the iPhone on the USB port, I get asked if I want to update to iOS 7. I click the later button and check the Don't ask again box. Suddenly, now iTunes wants to restart after I quit and it keeps restarting itself every time I quit the application. Does anyone happen to have an idea what is going on here? The only way I can get it to stop this behavior is to unplug the iPhone.
