Hi Kawal, I thought of doing the same, just using the full USB keyboard, but with a laptop, although it would work fine, it would seem a little silly. ----- Original Message ----- From: Kawal Gucukoglu To: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com Sent: Friday, July 19, 2013 12:03 PM Subject: Re: In VMWare, what screen reader modifier key are you using?
Hello Phil. I too use NDVA and a demo version of jaws mainly for testing as I test for companies using the Mac and Windows. Well, to solve all my problems, I have an Apple USB keyboard which I only use for Window environments. I do not have a MacBook Air or any kind of lap top and just use my I Mac, 16 GB for Mac and 16 GB for windows. No pauses, busy's or anything else to put up with. When Maverick comes, then it's a format of my SSD although I haven't installed anything since I got my Mac in January. It's like having two computers although it's only one! Amazing. Kawal. I've set the right option key as capslock, and also, I've set the right windows key(right command) to right control key. I did the control key thing because I noticed in jaws help that the laptop layout sometimes requires control in conjunction with the jaws key, and it was too much of a stretch to use the left control with the right alt (jaws key). So, on the bluetooth keyboard, I've got (left to right) function key control alt left windows key spacebar right control capslock. On the full-size USB keyboard, to the right of the spacebar, it's right windows key, capslock, right control. What are other VMWare users using for screenreader modifier key arrangements? I plan to use both NVDA and JAWS in laptop mode. P.S. I suppose one solution to the whole problem is to just carry around and plug in a full sized Apple USB keyboard, keeping screen readers set to desktop layout, but that sounds a little weird. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group.
