To dismount any removable media just select it and then choose "Eject"
from the file menu which is also command E.
A flash drive is like any other. You can create, move, update and delete
files just like on your hard drive.
When you machine was set up somebody had to put in a password. Did you
set up the machine or somebody else? I think a blank password is possible.
