Hi,

There are a number of ways to accomplish this depending on whether you wish a
regular playlist or a Smart playlist.

For the regular playlists, you can select the music first while in the Songs
view:

1. navigate through the list of songs until you find one you wish to put in
the playlist.
2. press VO-cmd-space to select. You'll likely need to press it a second time
on the first item to make sure it is actually selected.
3. continue navigating through your songs until you reach another song you
wish to add, and press VO-cmd-space on it. For this one and all subsequent
selections, you will only need to press the VO-cmd-space once to select.
4. Repeat #3 until you've selected the songs you wish to add to the specific
playlist.
5. Press cmd-shift-n (or go up to the File menu, choose New, go right and
choose New Playlist from Selection)
6. Type in a name for the playlist and press return.

If you wish to add songs after the fact, simply go into Songs view, or a
different playlist, navigate to the song or songs you wish to add, press
VO-shift-m to bring up the Contextual menu and choose "Add to Playlist". There
will be a list of existing playlist in the "Add to Playlist" sub-menu that you
can choose from. Simply press return on the desired playlist and it or they
will be added. If you're accidentally going to add duplicates, you will be
prompted to determine if you really want to add the duplicates or skip them and
add the rest. I usually choose the Skip item and everything works out fine.

You could also do things sort of backwards from this by creating the new
playlist first either under the File, New, New Playlist menu item or using
cmd-n then using the above method to add items to the existing playlist.

If you wish to create a Smart Playlist, go under the File menu, New, New Smart
Playlist ( or cmd-option-n), then follow the prompts in the dialog to match the
criteria you want for this playlist.

HTH.

Later...
