Cheree Heppe here: If an app with a subscriber price tag or sixty-some dollars per year appeared from the general market in the App Store, I guess there would be some takers. It so reflects that old, captive, unaware audiance modality which rehab and other specializing entities could present to their constituents as the one and only choice. No test driving, as is offered with some of the general market GPS apps. This no trial version available is all about that trust in me thing. If they had something competitive, would they be afraid to offer trial versions? It's more Murphy-itis on Seeing Eye's part. But, with their monthly captive audiance, there should be a lot of sells in the offing. Regretfully, I did not find the Sendero GPS especially helpful or, more helpful than what I got over Apple's App store. This isn't because I'm mostly sighted or anything; it's just that the Sendero GPS contained heavy layoring for reaching info, wasn't intuitive and didn't add much to how I get around. If I marketed a special, separate, but equal blindness app that all sorts of expert testers had previously tested, I would offer that test drive. Who knows, maybe tha new Seeing Eye GPS app would really be worth the high price.
