Actually, it turned out not to do the trick after all. I think something else is going wrong here because something's really pulling hard on the GPU: but, doesn't show up in the Activity monitor. I think that what ever's going on is producing a lot of heat and making the chip set much hotter than it really should be. I'll look again but can't find anything.
