There is a documented bug that gives an error message when moving or deleting 
messages in imap. I don't know if this will help but it can't hurt trying. 

Settings / mail contacts calender
Enter advanced settings for the mail account and in
Imap path prefix
Write the following in all caps
INBOX

See if that helps.
