Hi Brandt,

I read about that app, and posted a suggestion to the mac-access list
for someone who was asking for suggestions on one-handed typing. I
wasn't sure whether the app was accessible to blind users. Did you
try the free version first? From the description, this app works for
people who are accustomed to touch-typing with two hands, but can
transfer the touch-typing functions of both hands to one hand.
Apparently, muscle memory kicks in shortly after they begin to use the
app. You can also use KeyRemap4MacBook app (free but donationware,
and not at the Mac App Store) to remap keys for more convenient
access, and also the "Sticky Keys" accessibility function. Eric Caron
posted a podcast up at AppleVis for how to set up your Mac Keyboard so
you can use the Capslock key as the VO keys (Control+Option) on the
Mac, and also set Capslock to be the Insert key for Windows under
VMWare Fusion by using KeyRemap4MacBook.

For other who are interested, I believe this is the web site of the
developer of the app that Brandt mentions.
• One-Hand Typing for Injured Touch Typists
http://www.onehandkeyboard.org/
And here are links to the Mac App store the full and demo versions of
this app:
• One-Hand Keyboard: Free One-Hand Typing (free demo version) by
Peter Kamb

• One-Hand Keyboard: One-Hand Typing ($129.99) by Peter Kamb
https://itunes.apple.com/app/one-hand-keyboard-one-hand/id465275525?mt=12

I also came across a web site that does a comparison of one-handed
keyboard
alternatives:

You can use Safari Reader (Command-Shift-R) on this page.

HTH. Cheers,

Esther
