What even exactly is the difference in hiding from minimizing?

To my knowledge, that command hides all other applications. It is a purely visual thing, with no bearing on vo, so the conversation problems are likely unrelated.

In my clumsiness I hit command-option H while reading messages. VO said "Hide others" but I have no idea what others were being referred to. A perusal of the menus didn't shed a whole lot of light on the subject. I did, however, discover how to show my list of mailboxes which was handy indeed. One reason why I ask this question is that the VO backslash command to expand and collapse conversations doesn't seem to work as reliably as it once did. I was wondering if my hitting command option H changed something related to expanding and collapsing email conversations.

I've waffled on enough now and I think you all probably get the point. I will be quiet until someone enlightens me further.

Thanks and have a great weekend.
