That's why I liked mp3 gain on the PC, it just boosted the file's volume without requiring a re-encode. I am lucky though, I can get wav files of these particular tracks, amplify them and then encode to mp3... so it works as a stopgap solution for now. I really wish I had something like what I had with mp3gain on Windows though.
