Hello All, I'm new here & new to mac, but have been working my way through David Woodbridge & Mike (from how to be blind) Podcast series, both are excellent BTW.
Anyway, I was wanting to know which antivirus program you use? Do you use Avast? I saw that was recommended in a magazine I saw for getting started with the mac. I'd like to be protected before I start downloading things from the net, like Skype. I'm slowly getting there. Last week I think I was nearly successful at downloading silverlight to fill out some forms for my doctor, I was able to click on the download now icon, but I don't know what to do next. I somehow found that I'd tried to download it 3 times, but since there was a cancel option I did that and just had them help me when I got to the doctor's. So, that leads me to my next question, when downloading something from the net, how do we access it? I think silverlight is some sort of plug in and not something that I'm likely to need again but I know I want skype and some antivirus. so, I've guessed that there is a different process from downloading things from the App Store as I did the type2phone successfully and going through Safari to download things.
