Well, if by It you mean windows XP, and a ram upgrade to your old mini, I think 
you can get away with what you have.  If you upgrade to two gig of ram that 
would make your xp experience a bit better.  The reason you can't go higher 
than xp on that particular system is bootcam support.  XP is it.  You might get 
vista running but that would definitely require at least two gig of ram and you 
probably still wouldn't be happy with the result.

This would just basically be a stopgap to last your mini til the end of it's 
life.

By the by, if you bootcamp windows xp on that mini, nvda will work just fine as 
a windows screen reader and everything should work just fine the way you want 
it too.
