I actually have noticed this problem as far back as Snow Leopard, but I really didn't think too much of it. It's still really only a minor annoyance, but I would be curious if anyone else also has noticed this. If you have more than one item on your desktop, Even if all you have are two things, that's enough, I'm finding that sometimes Voiceover doesn't exactly correctly focus. Let's say that I have my macintosh HD highlighted, and yes, I do have cursor tracking enabled. Now, if I try to vo+right arrow, or for that mind, even vo+down! arrow, usually! ok, key word, usually! it works, and takes me to the next item, but every now and then, I find that I sometimes have to hit the tab key to move to the next item. Once this has been done, vo+left and right arrows work correctly. Sometimes the tab key doesn't even work, at which point, I have to command+tab to another running application, then command+h to hide it, go back to the Finder, specifically the desktop, and then, usually if it still doesn't work, I can generally hit the tab key at that point to get it unstuck. Usually when it does malfunction like this, when I try moving, all I get is a ding.

I'd be extremely curious if any of you guys also have seen this behavior, and if there's a permanant rimidy for this issue.

Chris.
