From other discussion threads this appears to be somewhat normal. Used to be 57GB so I guess the installed base of apps has grown. I guess that's why they don't sell a 16GB model anymore.

Okay, got my 5^th gen touch today. And it is the 64GB model. Now I know it comes preloaded with some stuff, but 8GB? It is telling me all I have available is 56GB, and this is when I first plug it in, is this normal? Or is something wrong here? Thanks.
