I made a custom gesture to do this. In the voiceover settings, go to
the track pad commander. When you make a custom gesture, you hold the
option key to use them. I set it so that option swipe up performs the
go to top command, and option swipe down performs the go to end
command. If you are interacting with the messages table, this will move
you to the top or bottom. These gestures are also handy for other
things such as going to the beginning or end of web pages.

Using my MacBook Pro with Quick Nab off, I don't see a way to quickly
jump to the top or bottom of a list of messages. Is this not possible,
or have I just not found the magic key combination?
