Anita,

I suggest that you take some time with the Keyboard Practice option within
VoiceOver. Press VO-k to start Keyboard Help then press the various keys
around the keyboard and VO will announce what key you've pressed. This will
tell you where things like the cmd (command) key are, the Option key, other
modifiers as well as function keys. In fact, Keyboard Help can also assist you
with becoming familiar with some basic VoiceOver commands. If you hold down
the VO keys (Control and Option) then press, for example, the letter "l", Vo
will announce "Read by Line". Therefore, you can learn that VO-l will read the
text one line at a time. Press other keys while the VO keys are down to learn
their functions as well. Press ESC (Escape) to get out of Keyboard Help.

Another thing to note that may help you some, is that the cmd (command) key or
the combination of command and option keys are used primarily within the MacOS
as keyboard shortcuts and really have nothing to do with VO. Any sighted user
can use these same key combinations to perform the desired action whether VO is
on or off.

HTH.

Later...
