I hear that DocuScan is the best OCR solution but it requires an internet connection but it only works for English. I use ABBYY FineReader Express for Mac and find it works well. However, if you want to do multipage scanning, it's best to use VueScan to capture the images as it can handle automatic page feeds, then give the resulting image file to ABBYY FineReader to process. ABBYY FineReader comes from the Appstore, but VueScan has to be purchased from the developer: www.hamrick.com I can't tell you the prices as I'm in the Euro zone, but it should come to under $200 for the second solution. DocuScan is more expensive.
