Hi Ioana, I don't know a lot about Amadeus Lite, but if you are going to take the time to learn Amadeus I would recommend getting the full version. I think otherwise you will keep finding functions you would like to use but don't have. One example is the Batch converter. this lets you quickly change files from one format to another for example from Windows Media Audio to MP3.
Amadeus does have the ability to detect silence between songs and place markers, however, I never mastered this as I often found extra markers where there was silence in a song, or a marker was not placed between songs because the vinyl record had pops between songs or the tape had loud hiss. I always chose to place my own markers. This is a really handy program. I use it for many more things then editing. sometimes I even play audio such as french language tracks because I find it easy to study by moving quickly back and forth and also by easily placing markers. I also have Amadeus as a default application to open audio so that audio I want to hear once is not automatically added to itunes. There are a lot of recent audio tutorials done with Amadeus from a blindness perspective and I think those are a great way to learn the application. One other thing, When I recorded tapes using Amadeus Pro I purchased a Griffin iMic as the audio input from my receiver and that worked really well. Best of luck with this big project!
