Your contacts, calendars, notes, and other content will appear once you sign into the account on your iPad. Apps are different: you have to open the app store, tap updates, then tap purchased apps and download the ones you want. Note that contacts and the rest are configureable in settings, so if you don't see content showing up, go to iCloud settings and be sure that all the categories you want are checked.
