then back in with no problems by going to settings and then right
flicking to the username field, and then finding the pw field and
doubletapping it, typing in my password and then go is in the bottom
right of the keyboard where return usually is.

Right, the problem isn't that I'm not using the correct sign-in info,
it's that I can't access the fields to enter my username and password.
