HI, I just tested then. I have Safari set to show my bookmarks wen I open a new tab. It showed the first table with the main categories (Bookmarks BAr, Bookmarks Menu etc), a vertical splitter, search field and a horizontal splitter, but no second table with my actual bookmarks.
I experimented with a whole bunch of things but as was suggested the only thing that worked was to press VO-up-arrow once which changed the percentage to 0%. I un-interacted with the horizontal splitter and the second table had appeared. Safari did not go busy at all, but as I said I recently upgraded to 16GB of memory. Before upgrading Safari would nearly always go busy. I think the extra memory helps a lot. Slightly off topic: I found that Safari and iTunes in particular are working so much better since I upgraded my memory. This is on my iMac. My MacBook Air seems to have very few problems at all. It's been said elsewhere, but I agree, that it seems like Apple really doesn't give Macs enough memory by default. At least not with the iMacs. As I said, my MacBook Air is fine, but I don't use it for intense stuff. I've never used a MacBook Pro. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group.
