Paul, I'd highly recommend the tutorial Ricardo Walker put together, but if
that's not quite thorough enough, I have made a tutorial which is about 5
hours in length and I cover ever single question that you asked. The
tutorial is $35.00 via paypal, and I can then send it to you once the
payment is received. It's in mp3 format.
If you are interested, write me off list, and let me know at:
clgillan...@gmail.com
This way we can work out payment arrangements.
Chris.

Subject: getting started with garage band
Dear listers,
I found a few podcasts about getting started in garage band, and I've
listened to these carefully. I'd like to be able to do a few different
things with it though, for which I did not really find a lot of stuff to get
me started. Can anyone please answer some or maybe all the following
questions?
Say I have an audio track in wav format, or anything for that matter. Is
garage band a good tool to edit audio files? Can I normalize, copy, cut and
paste easily in garage band, using voiceover, or should I stick with amadeus
pro to do that type of job?
In windows, I use sonar to create bits of music I need. If I want to use
garage band, am I restricted to the built-in virtual instruments, or can I
find other instruments elsewhere?
When editing music created with virtual instruments, is it possible for us
to do things like editing timings for notes, going to a particular measure
and beat, and select, copy and paste material for virtual instrument tracks?
I'm very interested to find out about this, because the sounds of the
built-in garage band instruments are generally very promising. I don't have
any experience in garage band yet using voiceover on the mac. Please tell me
what you have found out already.
Thanks a lot for taking time to answer this.
Paul.
