Again, as Ricardo said, the tripple click won't work by default, unless it
was pressed initially during the setup screen. If you all were trying to do
this after the IPhones had been set up and configured, that's then why it
didn't work on any of the units. Trust me, I've been a dev for quite some
time, so I think I should know what I'm talking about.
Chris.

Ricardo, apparently that has been changed. AFB sponsored an iPhone workshop
at our recent ACB of Texas conference this past weekend. We decided to test
this because there was a discussion about tripple click home and whether
this standard any more. It didn't work on any of the iPhones we had present,
unless it was set up in the VoiceOver utility. I guess too many of our
sighted friends using iPhones turned VoiceOver on and couldn't figure out
how to get it off. My husband said that at one time there was a link or
something on the Apple website that said "Turn VoiceOver off." I've noticed
that some of these sighted folks panic when they get VoiceOver going. I
guess that some of them don't listen to the hints.

Hi,
As far as I know, you must first set up the "Triple-click Home" to
"Toggle VoiceOver" before that functionality will work. Pressing that
out of the box will not turn on VO unless Apple has changed the default
lately. As mentioned earlier, it may be easiest to configure the
Universal Access options through iTunes. Then once VO is on, the
Triple-Click toggle can be set.
Later...

Why do all that? Can they not turn on voiceover by tripple clicking
the home key from the initial setup, or if nothing else, turn V O on
within ITunes? If they're blind, it's gonna be a little hard tapping
settings/accessibility/voiceover.

Hello, I might to also assume that you are a brand-new iOS user if so
there is a gentleman on Apple this VIS Apple this.com who works
primarily with visually impaired and has done many podcasts dealing
with iOS software and how voiceover works. His name is David
Woodbridge. If you go through there podcasts section, you will find
your share of podcasts relating to Iowa software done by David
Woodbridge also you can find his podcasts in iTunes. I hope this helps.

Try the accessible-ios google group. I can answer your question,
though: go to settings, general, accessibility, Voiceover, and turn it
on. From there, use the list I emntioned and/or find some primers on
applevis.com that might help. Googling specific questions will also
help as there are many tutorials and articles out there, plus the
official Apple documentation for voiceover.
