"Mac, I came across a free tiny utility called purge.
This little gem has absolutely no interface what so ever. You just run it,
it does it's thing, and you have lots of free RAM once again. Seeing as
there is no interface, there is there fore no accessibility issues with
it.
It now has a place in my dock.
If you want to find it, do a google search for purge for Mac. I got my
copy
from macupdate.com."
Me:
http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/39777/purge
On that site in the comments we find this about how it is already
available on the mac:
All this does is execute the 'purge' command that comes with the Developer
Tools (Xcode etc.) from Apple. The Developer Tools need to be installed
for this to work (you can also just type 'purge' in Terminal).
