If you have to click, try vo-cmd-f5 to route your mouse cursor to where the vo 
cursor is, then physically click the mouse or use vo-shift-space. I discovered 
that trick a couple days ago; routing the mouse cursor will activate things 
that happen when you hover, plus let you physically click the mouse. Sometimes 
this works when vo-space or enter fail.
