Hi I had this the first time I loaded the app on my iPad. I removed it from the app switcher, opened the app again and now it is full size. Sometimes, the orientation of the controls switches to portrait while the actual keyboard remains in landscape which is where I like it. That's a bit weird, but it works well apart from that on my iPad.
Perhaps try removing it from the app switcher, or re-downloading it on your iPad from the app store. I've not tried doing this. I don't think there is a different version for the iPad though.
