I don't know anything about text detective but the back camera is the very high resolution one where the front is low res just for video chat. So I suspect they want you to use the back camera. This would also be much more convenient as you can have it aimed at something and still have access to the UI on the screen.

Hello everyone,

I was sorely tempted to chop off the last two words of the subject but wasn't sure
if I was allowed to do that since I"m not a list moderator.

I went to the Applevis site and read all the posts about TextDetective. They
were very informative. I have two questions, however:

1. I have an iPhone 4S which has a front and rear camera. Which camera does
TextDetective require you to use?

2. Apparently, the program will only read material if it is right-side-up,
from the camera's perspective. Has this been addressed in the most recent
update?

My best to all of you, and thanks!

Mike

Is it worth getting with an iPod Touch 4Th Gen? Considering it but don't want
to spend the money if I can't get good results.

Try Text Detective. It's an app that scans automatically without the need to
take a photo of text. Works best with the 4S and is on applevis if you want to
peruse the description and comments on it. Here's the link:

absolutely none. I've never got it to work once in over a year. I eventually

Hi guys
I have Prismo and it works fine it's far as I can say. But my husband found a
program called say text all one word by the way. The thing I really like about
it is that it really makes a big loud beeping noise when you get your picture
in focus and then you leave the iPhone still to take the picture. I was
wondering what success set it you guys had using this app?
