You can do it with Messages. Add an account and select Jabber as the type.
Make sure you know your usernae from Facebook. Not your e-mail address, but the username you probably selected at some point. For instance, if I go to www.facebook.com/Brandon.Olivares, my profile will come up, so my username is Brandon.Olivares. After you find that username, enter usern...@chat.facebook.com in the username field of the account settings, replacing username with your Facebook username. Enter your password into the password field. Now you should be set.
