Hey Alex, I to found it difficult to use at first, not sure if this
could solve your problem, as I have multiple accounts example gmail,
cell phone, Apple ID, and wasn't sure what account was associated with
messages, I went in to the settings menu and clicked to login with my
Apple ID and logged out of gmail, and it seemed to work a little. I
was able to send a test message, but I did notice that the message I
sent from my computer never appeared on my cell phone as messages, so
I was able to send a message, but it doesn't seem to sync across all
of my Apple devices, I am sure it is a setting I have to play around
with
