Hi,

I'll give you a bit of info on how iTunes works and hopefully it helps you to
work within iTunes easier.

1. By default, iTunes will copy music from wherever you're playing it from
into the iTunes Library so that iTunes can play it easier in the future. If
you don't care for this behaviour, you can change it in iTunes Prefs in the
Advanced pane.

2. If you don't wish to have anything to do with the iTunes Store, then you'll
need to disable it in iTunes Prefs in the Parental pane.

3. iTunes is designed to be a complete media solution and is quite a bit
different than other audio or media players that you may be used to. If you
take some time and work with it, you may find it quite easy although some
prefer other media players that treat your playback experience differently.
One that is quite a good app is VLC player. There are many who prefer it to
iTunes.

Once you get your head wrapped around the way iTunes handles things, it's not
that difficult and quite useful for a lot of your multi-media playing needs.

Keep asking questions and you'll get familiar and accustomed with it.

HTH.
