Hi, You may be able to change what is announced with respect to buttons in the Custom Verbosity area of the VO Utility. If you prefer most things on Low, you are able to specifically set the button attributes to be announced differently within that area. Also, as Alex mentioned, the default button is usually the last one in the dialog and you can quickly get there by pressing VO-end. this would be VO-fn-right arrow on a laptop.
